Combined Metals Hampshire facility features one of the newest and most versatile World Class Cold Rolling Mills in the Industry. This mill specializes in rolling stainless steel and high nickel alloys to exact specifications. With our highly skilled, world class work force we are capable of producing material with extremely tight surface and material specifications.

Our mill is capable of rolling material from .100” down to .002” up to a width of 40”. We are also capable of providing either annealed product or tempered product to your exact specification.

Hampshire’s 20 high reversing mill  was designed by Sundwig with state of the art Siemens controls. The split housing, Sendzimer Type mill is equipped with the latest technology in thickness measurement and control.

Both X-ray gages and Vollmer contact gages can be used interchangeably and in tandem with laser tachometers for the most accurate thickness measurement. Mass flow Automatic Gauge Control technology actually predicts the thickness during a pass compared to “after the fact” technology.

The net result is longitudinal thickness with tolerances +/- 1% of the target. Flatness is also automatically controlled with BFI shape sensing rolls feeding back to the mills actuators for edge, crown and profile correction.
